To ensure the safety, effectiveness, and quality of in home therapy services, Lymphedema, Oncology, and Occupational Therapy Professionals requires that all treatment environments meet the following standards. These guidelines are in place to protect both the patient and the clinician during every visit.
The designated treatment area must be clean, adequately lit, and free from hazards such as loose rugs, cords, clutter, or unstable furniture. There must be sufficient space available to safely perform all therapeutic interventions.
All pets must be secured in a separate area and may not be present during treatment sessions. Children must be properly supervised at all times and must not interfere with therapy services.
Smoking, vaping, or exposure to strong odors is not permitted during the session. Firearms or other weapons must be safely secured and inaccessible for the duration of the visit.
If any household member is experiencing illness or contagious symptoms, the appointment must be rescheduled to ensure the health and safety of all parties.
In some cases, a photo of the designated treatment area may be requested prior to appointment confirmation to verify safety and suitability.
The clinician reserves the right to cancel or reschedule services if the treatment environment is determined to be unsafe, unsanitary, or unsuitable for care. Failure to comply with these safety requirements may result in cancellation of services and may be subject to the practice’s cancellation policy.
By scheduling an in home appointment, the client acknowledges responsibility for maintaining a safe and appropriate treatment environment. The client understands that therapy services may be postponed or canceled if the required safety standards are not met.
